Beverly Sassoon

People are always interested in what Stars think, say and do, other than appearing in film, stage or on concert tours. So here goes
A unique star who has been a leader in the entertainment industry, Beverly Garland was born in 1924 in Santa Cruz, California. She came from a typical working class family, her father, James Campbell, worked as a salesman and her mother, Millie, was a nurse.
Garland's first 50 years in Hollywood gave her credentials as a star in 40 feature films, nearly 700 television programs, opposite leading men as Fred MacMurray, as his wife in "My Three Sons," Bogart, Crosby, Sinatra, and Dick Van Dyke. As Casey Jones in "Decoy," in 1957, she was the first female police officer in the history of television to front a T.V classic show. She was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame and the city of LA acclaimed it "Beverly Garland Day."
Her first film was as the co-star with Edmond O'Brian in "D.O.A." A respected television and film star, she is also the owner of the Hollywood Holiday Inn Hotel in Studio City. "When you visit Hollywood," she says, "come and visit, ask for me." She ranks high as the member of the California Tourism Board and for many years was the honorary Mayor of North Hollywood. She and her late husband Fillmore Crank have 4 children, Carrington, James, Fillmore Jr. and Cathleen, who also serves as director and manages the hotel.
Garland told me a quip she said I could share with my readers: "I went down the street to the drugstore the other day and when I handed the clerk my credit card, he said, 'Oh, you're Beverly Garland... Funny, just down the street is the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn Hotel. You should stop in and introduce yourself to her, since you have the same name.' 'Maybe I will someday,'" she said.

Did you ever wonder what happened to BEVERLY SASSOON, a beautiful model, film star and business woman? Well! She has made lots of Hollywood friends and is their consultant on beauty. She has finally found her home and business in Boca Raton, FL.
Beverly Adams came from Edmonton Canada and was raised in Burbank California. She went to modeling school and before you could say Vidal Sassoon, at 18, was signed to a movie contract at Columbia Pictures. She credits her first success to the Matt Helm movies series where she played Lovey Kraveezit, the sex pot secretary of Dean Martin. Her former husband Vidal Sassoon was her hair stylist in London. After a short time dating, they were married in Las Vegas in 1986. Beverly became a board member of the Sassoon organization, offered many creative ideas for them to sell women's products and beauty aids. Finding difficulty in a man's world and not getting her idea's across, they divorced after 13 years of marriage.
Beverly then went into business with health care and beauty products sold around the country. At 56, she is on top of the world, devoting more time to business, plus writing another book. Her first was A Year Of Health And Beauty, which she co-authored with Vidal. Her second, Beauty For Always, she co-authored with her 31-year-old son Elian Sassoon. Her third, FANTASIES, is a book about obsessive love. Her Quip was about her 4th book, Know Your 'V' Spot. As Beverly told me, "V" is for your vulnerable spots. She said, "As an active spokesperson for my former husband Vidal, I have been fortunate to experience making history in the business world and to share in someone's extraordinary dream and watch it come true." Beverly believes that feeling good and looking good is the secret to happiness.
